Humble Beginnings

Since 1973, Birth Choice - which originally thought it would operate as a referral service - found itself providing services for pregnant women that simply did not exist in Oklahoma.

Originally located in the Lakeside Methodist Church at Northwest 66th and May Avenue, Birth Choice grew rapidly.  The need for additional space prompted a move to 803 Southwest 23rd Street, (known to many as the little yellow house) and subsequently to 3021 South Western where the organization operated until May 2005.  As the client list and services expanded, the organization opened an office in north Oklahoma City, first at Mercy Hospital and later at 5106 North Rockwell in Bethany.  The Edmond office opened in 1993, at 424 East 2nd Street, and then moved in 1998 to its current location at 11 Burton Place.  The growth of Birth Choice continues.

Today Birth Choice is a resource center for pregnant women with four offices in the metropolitan Oklahoma City area (Bethany, Edmond, Norman, and South Oklahoma City), four other offices throughout the state (El Reno, Lawton, Nowata, and Stillwater), and other affiliates nationwide.
